Since 1997, WILS has been serving people of all ages, from children to seniors with disabilities in Benton, Henry, Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis, and Saline Counties.
We are a consumer driven, non-residential, 501(c)3 nonprofit resource center that serves people with physical disabilities and their families at all stages of life.
As a Center for Independent Living (CIL) we empower persons with physical disabilities to take charge of their lives and guide their own destinies to live as independently as possible. WILS staff and consumers work together to remove barriers and prejudices in society so that all individuals can live, can work and can enjoy all that their communities have to offer. Fifty-one percent of our staff and board of directors are persons with disabilities; we are who we serve.
As a Center for Independent Living, We Offer 5 Core Services:
- Information & Referral
- Independent Living Skills
- Peer Mentoring
- Advocacy – Individual & Systemic
- Transition Services
