# Checking Out Documents in DL

**Checking Out Documents in DL**

If you need to print a document or enter information that does not need to be saved (for example, the IL Consumer Intake Form), you may double-click on it to open a read-only copy.

If you need to save data to a document which needs to be saved for others to view (for example, the Intake Spreadsheet), right-click on the document and select *Check Out…* When you close the document, it should save the information entered.
