Why accuracy in CILs First is so important for QSR/704 reports

The developers of CILs First built the database to track our interactions with consumers then tabulate them at the end of the year for the 704 report which is used nationally. The Quarterly Service Report, or QSR, is unique to Missouri but its totals must add up to  the 704 report at the end of the year. This is why it’s so important that we date I&Rs and intakes correctly, especially when duplicating consumers. In our previous system, I&R and intake records were all tracked under the same consumer file. When we moved to CILs First, it seemed logical to keep doing it the same way. However, we learned that CILs First tracks I & R and intake files separately to ensure that 704/QSR reporting is accurate. As you review records for the closing quarter, please ensure that I&R and intake files don’t have the same start date. To emphasize what we learned during the in-service presentation, the intake file starting date should match the date of the initial visit. The end date of the same consumer’s I&R file may match this date because that’s the day the consumer transitioned from I&R to intake. Another common mistake in duplicating records is that the Reason for Leaving is carried over to the intake file from the I & R file. If the intake file is open,  please ensure that the Reason for Leaving is blank.

We appreciate your continued attention to these details to keep QSR/704 reporting corrections to a minimum.
