WILS invites you to celebrate our 25th birthday with community movie events all summer long!

Center for Human Services’ movie event is November 10 at 5pm. Turning Red will play at the CHS Garlich Activity Center at 4415 Main Street Rd. in Sedalia.

There will be pizza, bingo, and movies!

Grant recipients will be airing the KMOS’ national award winning short film, The Story of Us as a “preview” to their summer movie and hand out WILS information at the concession stand.

WILS will sponsor a user generated content photo contest. Participants  can be entered in a drawing to receive a WILS prize pack for posting photos at the community movie night using #WILSMovieNight @TheWILSWAY

Odessa Project Connect

Join WILS at Project Connect in Odessa hosted by the HCC Network July 29 from 9 am. – 2 pm at Odessa High School. Project Connect is a one-day public health outreach event designed to help underserved and uninsured adults find needed community resources. All services offered are free.

Additionally, the Diagnostic Imaging Mammogram Unit will be there and they have a grant to cover mammograms for women 40 and over and uninsured.

Services and resources available at Project Connect events include:
  • Dental extractions in our Mobile Unit (first come, first serve)
  • Haircuts
  • Height, weight, blood pressure check, vision screenings, etc.
  • Behavioral health screenings
  • Enrollment assistance for Medicaid,  Medicare, Affordable Care Act, unemployment, disability, and food stamps
  • WIC & nutritional information & education
  • Pregnancy tests & women’s resources
  • Exit bags with hygiene supplies & necessities
  • Drug incinerator
  • Workforce mobile unit
  • Gathering table
  • Veteran’s services
  • Immunizations voucher (good for 14 days)
  • Birth/death certificate voucher (good for 14 days)
  • MO driver’s license & photo ID voucher (good for 14 days)
  • Many other resources – see below!

Organizations will help raise awareness of available community resources by providing information and free services while also building connections with members of the community. Volunteers will guide attendees around the event and inform them about the community resources and services available. Outdoors Without Limits

Activities will be provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation and include fishing, archery, and target practice. MDC and National Wild Turkey Federation volunteers will be on site to assist.   

Tables and chairs provided by the Warrensburg  Community Center.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 am.

This event is for individuals with a disability living in Benton, Henry, Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis, and Saline counties. Transportation may be available; transportation must be requested by Sept 7.
