Warrensburg, MO – The Annual Outdoors Without Limit Event, held on September 18 at Hazel Hill Lake, brought together over 100 participants for a day filled with outdoor activities, camaraderie, and fun. Designed to serve individuals with disabilities from Benton, Henry, Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis, and Saline counties, the event offered inclusive activities such as fishing, archery, and target practice—all free of charge.
Attendees enjoyed not only the exciting activities but also a community lunch by the lake, creating an atmosphere of shared joy and connection. For many, this was their first time experiencing outdoor activities like archery and fishing, with no prior experience or fishing license required.
“This event was all about providing opportunities for individuals to enjoy the great outdoors in a supportive, inclusive environment,” said Teresa Huffman, Resource Development Manager of WILS. “We are thrilled with the turnout and couldn’t be more grateful to our volunteers, sponsors, and donors who helped make the day so special.”
The event was made possible through the generosity of local volunteers, businesses that supplied materials, and donors who contributed funding. The support of the Missouri Department of Conservation, The National Wild Turkey Federation’s local Stealth Gobbler’s chapter, and Warrensburg Parks and Rec ensured that the entire day, including lunch, was completely free for all participants.
The Annual Outdoors Without Limit Event exemplifies the commitment of local organizations to fostering community and inclusivity by providing meaningful, accessible experiences for individuals with disabilities.
