Can consumers and attendants both have Ascend EVV on their phones?

In short, the answer is yes. The theory is that the attendant has chosen a unique username and password which should not be known to the consumer. Therefore, the Ascend EVV app can be installed on either phone because it uses this method for authentication along with GPS to confirm location. While we understand that there is potential for the consumer to know the attendant’s username and password, that potential also exists with telephony and it’s even less secure because only a 4-6 digit codes is necessary. There is a greater degree of difficulty for a consumer to enter their attendant’s password correctly because the password meets the current security standard of 1 uppercase, 1 lowercase, 1 number and 1 special character.
